Nora Lee's Fun Club

Nora Lee decided she wanted to have a "fun club" and needed a meeting place for such a venture. So, we cleaned out her closet and got her some paints and voila - a fun club meeting place emerged!

Recycle It

We went on a field trip to a place near the beach that educates kids about recycling, reclaiming, and reusing materials from everyday life. They have a small warehouse full of items that would normally be tossed away. Kids can collect all the materials they want and build art from it.

Magnets

We have recently subscribed to the Magic School Bus science program. Each month we are sent a packet of instructions and materials that focus on an area of science.

This month the subject was magnets. Nora Lee had a lot of fun working with magnets and iron shavings. We collected things from around the house to see if they were magnetic. She was surprised how the poles on magnets either attract or repel one another.

Natural History Museum

French Class

This week, the french class at park day held a big french festival. Each child in the class studied and presented on a country where french is spoken. They made posters and brought food from that region as well.
