We have recently subscribed to the Magic School Bus science program. Each month we are sent a packet of instructions and materials that focus on an area of science.
This month the subject was magnets. Nora Lee had a lot of fun working with magnets and iron shavings. We collected things from around the house to see if they were magnetic. She was surprised how the poles on magnets either attract or repel one another.
Homeschooling and a life of freedom, simplicity, and the richness of being alive.

The Human Body
Nora Lee and I have been studying the human body both at home and last week at one of the park days.
Here the kids have created the human body. Each child would do a different activity that takes place in the body. For example, the first child was the mouth and they "chewed" up the food in a plastic bag. Then the next one added some water as saliva. The next one pushed it down the esophagus and so on. When the bag of cereal got to the last person it had been completely broken down and pushed out the other side!
